Rape charges dismissed after two long years

Corvallis Gazette Times reported on this story. One quote really summarizes this ordeal:

It's amazing that someone's accusing words can rally law enforcement so steadfastly against an innocent man.  Perhaps Corvallis Police Department needs to attend some classes regarding how common it is for someone to falsely accuse another of rape. They never make the national statistics because there's no standard for memorializing this.  One law enforcement officer once told me that 90% of the rape calls he gets turn out to be a false accusation that they quickly figure out. God forbid you are one of the innocent that they don't "figure out."

The Albany Tribune reported: "Eugene attorney C. Michael Arnold said, 'No government prosecutor would want to try this case to a jury of twelve taxpayers.'”
